Founded in 1884 by Don Gregorio Zamora and now managed by his great, great grandchildren, Finca Rabanales has been cared for by the Zamora family for five generations. Originally a livestock farm, Don Zamora planted coffee in 1894 and ever since the family have been committed to producing the highest quality lots possible.
The Fraijanes region is distinguished by high rainfall, high altitudes, shifting humidity and is home to the Pacaya volcano - one of three active volcanoes in Guatemala. The occasional minor eruptions from Pacaya nourish the surrounding land with minerals, offering nutrient-rich soil ideal for growing coffee.
This specific coffee exhibits plenty of the classic qualities associated with high-quality Guatemalan lots - rich chocolate notes, medium acidity and a syrupy body. A delicious cup whether brewed as filter or as espresso
It’s important to order the right grind for the way you make your coffee:
Whole bean – for those with a grinder.
Coarse – for making in a cafetiere.
Medium – for pour over/ drip
Fine – for espresso and aeropress.
